GHRP-2

Growth Hormone Releasing Peptide-2

Also known as: Pralmorelin, KP-102, D-Ala-D-beta-Nal-Ala-Trp-D-Phe-Lys-NH2

Overview

A synthetic hexapeptide GH secretagogue considered the most potent in the GHRP family. It produces strong GH release through the ghrelin receptor with moderate effects on appetite, cortisol, and prolactin, falling between GHRP-6 and ipamorelin in selectivity.

Half-Life
15-60 minutes
Typical Dose
100–300 mcg
Frequency
2-3 times daily
Cycle Length
8-16 weeks

Administration

SubcutaneousIntranasalIntravenous

Benefits

  • Strongest GH release among GHRPs
  • Improved lean body mass and muscle recovery
  • Moderate appetite stimulation
  • Enhanced sleep quality
  • Potential neuroprotective effects

Side Effects

  • Moderate appetite increase
  • Elevated cortisol and prolactin (less than GHRP-6)
  • Water retention
  • Possible drowsiness
  • Tingling at injection site

Mechanism of Action

  • Potently agonizes the GHS-R1a receptor, producing the largest GH pulse among GHRPs
  • Stimulates hypothalamic GHRH neurons to amplify GH release
  • Moderate ghrelin-like signaling increases appetite through NPY/AgRP pathway activation

Contraindications

  • Active cancer or tumors
  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding
  • Conditions aggravated by elevated cortisol
  • Uncontrolled diabetes

Storage & Reconstitution

Store at 2–8°C (36–46°F) for up to 3 months. For long-term storage, keep at -20°C (-4°F). Once reconstituted, refrigerate and use within 21 days. Protect from light.

Common peptide amounts:5 mg10 mg

Research Summary

GHRP-2 (Pralmorelin) has been approved in Japan as a diagnostic agent for GH deficiency and extensively studied in clinical settings. Research demonstrates it produces the highest peak GH levels among GHRPs, approximately 20-40% greater than GHRP-6. Studies also suggest neuroprotective effects in models of neurodegeneration.
